On this International Women's Day, I want to look back on my experience as a woman- one that's been defined by both challenges and by growth. As girls we are often told to do things in a certain way like act a particular way, sit properly, to be polite, to look a certain way, etc. We are taught from a young age that to fit in this society you have to follow the expectations of this society like the way we dress, speak and behave with others. There have been always some limitations to whatever we do but this restrictions were not meant for the boys as if they could do anything and everything, like enter the house wherever they want or leave the house even at night. The moment you step outside your home you also begin to feel the weight of society's expectations. Now people judge you for the way you behave, the way you look and also the way you laugh!!
